Join writer Jen Savran Kelly, poet Fran Markover, and Rabbi in Training Michael Margolin for our third Creative Arts Shabbat, using writing and creativity to follow the arc of a Shabbat service and this week’s Torah portion, Emor.
We’ll explore themes of gratitude, blessing, holiness, and voice through writing prompts inspired by Leviticus, paired with excerpts from poets and writers including Lucille Clifton, Robert Hayden, James Baldwin, Miriam Toews, and original work by Fran Markover. You can write or draw. This isn’t about producing something “good,” it’s about experiencing where creative and spiritual energies meet.
No writing experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to put pen to page.
Families welcome! Ages 10+
