 D ARTISTS:\n\nDeborah Strauss is an internationally acclaimed klezmer vio
 linist who has been performing\, recording\, and teaching worldwide for mo
 re than 30 years. She is one-halfof the Strauss/ Warschauer Duo with her h
 usband\, Cantor Jeff Warschauer\, was a long-time member of the Klezmer Co
 nservatory Band and was featured in the Emmy Award-winning film\, Itzhak P
 erlman: In the Fiddler’s House . A highly regarded Yiddish dancer and an
  award-winning educator\, Strauss taught for 20 years at Yiddish cultural 
 schools in Manhattan and on Long Island. She has served as Education Direc
 tor of Reconstructionist Congregation Kehilat Shalom in Belle Mead\, New J
 ersey\, and is the Yiddish Culture Organizer for the new Arbeter Ring/ Wor
 kers Circle Sixty Plus initiative\, Zol Zayn Yidish! Let there Be Yiddish!
  As a performer and teacher\, Strauss is a mainstay at the Jewish Culture 
 Festival in Krakow\, KlezKanada\, Yiddish Summer Weimar\, and Trip to Yidd
 ishland.\n\nCantor Jeff Warschauer is a hazzan\, educator and highly acco
 mplished musician with a sweet\, soulful voice and a friendly\, engaging p
 resence. Ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary\, Jeff is a faculty m
 ember of Columbia University and JTS and has served congregations in New J
 ersey\, New York\, Connecticut\, Ohio\, Pennsylvania\, Maine and Vermont. 
 Jeff is also internationally renowned as a leading klezmer mandolinist\, a
 n innovator in the development of klezmer guitar style\, a Yiddish and Heb
 rew singer\, and a skillful and inspirational educator. One half of the St
 rauss/Warschauer Duo\, he was a longtime member of the Klezmer Conservator
 y Band and has been featured in concert and on recordings with Itzhak Perl
 man\, Joel Grey and the late Theodore Bikel. Jeff is also a Founding Artis
 tic Director of KlezKanada.\n\nPete Rushefsky is a leading performer\, co
 mposer and researcher of the Jewish tsimbl (cimbalom or hammered dulcimer)
 \, Rushefsky tours and records internationally with violinist Itzhak Perlm
 an as part of the Klezmer Conservatory Band\, and collaborates with a numb
 er of leading figures in the contemporary klezmer scene. Since 2006 he has
  served as Executive Director of the Center for Traditional Music and Danc
 e\, one of the nation’s leading organizations dedicated to sustaining an
 d presenting diverse immigrant music traditions from around the world. A f
 ounder of the annual Yiddish New York festival\, Rushefsky curated the Yid
 dish program at the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival and has authored a 
 number of articles and books on traditional music and culture. He won the 
 Jewish Music Institute (IMJ Sao Paulo’s) 2022 Bubbe Award for best new k
 lezmer composition.
