DESCRIPTION:Join Lauren Monroe in a conversation about the Torah – your q
 uestions will be our guide! This session will begin with a Very Brief hist
 ory of the Torah as a Jewish text\, but most of our time will be spent gat
 hering and discussing your questions. You can come with something in mind 
 that you want to ask\, you can be inspired by the conversation to come up 
 with questions in the moment\, or you can just come and listen as we think
  through and wrestle with questions about the Torah that are on the minds 
 of members of the TvO community.\nLauren Monroe grew up in the Reform move
 ment\, at Temple Beth Elohim\, in Brooklyn\, NY.  As a Jewish Studies maj
 or in college at SUNY Albany\, she fell in love with reading and interpret
 ing Jewish texts. Lauren received her PhD in Bible and Ancient Near East f
 rom the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York Unive
 rsity.  At Cornell\, she teaches courses in Hebrew Bible\, Biblical Hebre
 w\, Archaeology\, and Ancient Israelite Religious and Social History. \nR
