DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nSHABBAT WITH RABBI GILA COLMAN RUSKIN\n\n\n\nRabbi Gila w
 ill facilitate a community mosaic project for us on Saturday morning:\n\nW
 e will be creating a “crest” of our congregation with the word Tikkun 
 (Healing) as an assemblage of silver toned and iridescent tesserae donated
  by our congregants and from Rabbi Gila’s collection. The background wi
 ll be Or (pulsating light) composed of stained glass and repurposed glass 
 tiles.\n\nAnyone above the age of 5 can participate.\n\n\n\nRabbi Gila Col
 man Ruskin is a rabbi\, educator\, and artist whose work in Mosaic Midrash
  invites participants to explore sacred text through creativity\, reflecti
 on\, and transformation. Her practice brings beauty and wholeness from wha
 t is broken or discarded\, offering fresh and deeply personal pathways int
 o Jewish learning.\n\nRabbi Gila’s poetry appears on Ritualwell\, and sh
 e is a regular contributor to the CCAR newsletter as part of its team of T
 orah commentators.\n\nNow retired from the pulpit and living in Philadelph
 ia\, Rabbi Gila previously served for ten years as rabbi of Temple Adas Sh
 alom in Havre de Grace\, Maryland\, and for fifteen years as the founding 
 rabbi of a Conservative congregation in Baltimore. Her wide-ranging career
  has included teaching\, chaplaincy\, and interfaith leadership\, as well 
 as leading teen journeys to Poland and Israel.\n\nDeeply shaped by her exp
 erience as a caregiver for her mother\, who lived to 102\, Rabbi Gila also
  offers caregiver coaching grounded in compassion and spiritual insight. S
 he and her husband\, Paul\, cherish time with their children and grandchil

 res\n\nIn the next few weeks\, salvage your unused jewelry (single earring
 s\, Grandma’s brooch\, cufflinks\, never-worn long-ago gifts) and thrift
  shop finds\, and bring them to the temple on May 16th. For our purpose: a
 ssembling the crest of Tikkun\, these are invaluable and precious.  Each 
 of your donations will be integrated into the design. If you cannot attend
  on May 16 but would like to contribute jewelry\, a box for donations will
  be in the TvO lobby.\n\n\n
